English Language GCSE Booster - (Group - Max 4))

In this class your child will learn, practice and review the skills set out in the Assessment Objectives for GCSE English Language.

The class is ideal for pupils who are struggling to get or maintain a passing grade and who need extra help to review general aspects of the curriculum, such as essay writing , SPaG and correct use of subject terminology.

In this class your child will:

• improve their essay-writing and SPaG skills;
• learn how to develop interesting creative and factual writing pieces required for Task 2 in both language papers;
• master 'language' and ' structure' features and learn how to apply them correctly in exam questions;
• and learn the relevant subject terminology needed to analyse and write about texts.

As well as the usual worksheets and exam practice papers, your child will learn using online games, quizzes and puzzles. Depending on the work they will work with the group, in partners or, sometimes 1-1 with me.

Group size is a minimum of two students and a maximum of four.

Included in your fee are subscriptions to IXL (Maths and English) and STORYBOARDTHAT (rrp £25 a month )

This class meets on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 1pm during the lockdown. New dates and times will be arranged when schools go back to a normal timetable.
